The Voice That
Built Reggaeton
Félix Gerardo Ortiz Torres — known to the world as Zion — is one of the architects of reggaeton as we know it. The sweet-voiced Puerto Rican legend came to Australia for the first time ever on February 27 and 28, performing two historic nights in Sydney. La Familia Smile was there behind the scenes for all of it.
Zion is not just a name in Latin music. He is part of its foundation. As one half of the legendary duo Zion & Lennox — formed in Carolina, Puerto Rico in 2000 — he helped take reggaeton from the underground to the global mainstream, giving the genre a smoother, more romantic, and deeply melodic dimension that set it apart from everything else.
With hits like "Yo Voy" featuring Daddy Yankee, "Otra Vez" featuring J Balvin, and "La Player", Zion & Lennox defined an era. And now, following the duo's official separation in late 2024, Zion is stepping forward on his own — carrying over two decades of legacy into a new solo chapter.
A Legend Comes to Australia
February 27 and 28, 2025. Two nights. Two shows. One historic first — Zion performing in Australia for the very first time. For the Latin community in Sydney, it was more than a concert. It was a statement that the world was finally paying attention to what was happening on this side of the globe.
Friday night was Zion's show — his stage, his crowd, his moment. But Saturday brought something even more extraordinary. Bad Bunny was in Australia at the same time, performing as part of his own tour. Two of Puerto Rico's most iconic names, on the same continent, on the same weekend. Zion spent the day alongside Bad Bunny's show, and when night fell, it was his event that closed out the weekend — an after show that brought the Sydney Latin community together for one final unforgettable night.
"Two nights in Sydney. Friday his show, Saturday alongside Bad Bunny — and then the after show. Zion's first time in Australia proved exactly what La Familia Smile has always known: the Latin community here is real, it is passionate, and it deserves the world's best artists."

La Familia Smile — Behind the Scenes
La Familia Smile was behind the scenes for both nights — capturing everything. It all became part of the La Familia Smile documentary on the Oceania Latin music scene.
